What tyres?

Car is currently fitted with Michelin Primacy 205/60 R15 91V (1.8T Passat)

Car is a motorway muncher, 25k miles per year mainly in a straight line.

New tyres should in an ideal world fulfil the following criteria:

1) Quiet
2) Hard Wearing
3) Excellent under braking
4) Good in the wet

Can anyone recommend me any specific replacements and I obiously know that it's unlikely that I can satisfy all 4 criteria.

There is no real budget here but please remember the type of driving the car will be used for, I'm not going to be chucking into corners and needing bags of corner grip for instance!

Avon Tyres seem to last very well, they're quite a hard compound. they're not brilliant in the wet, but seem to satisfy the other 3 criteria.

I doubt that he could justify the price premium of the F1's as he will mainly be doing motorway miles.

F1's are excellent but not hard wearing.

Consider Goodyear Hydragrip.

If you want Michelin tyres, try costco, they won't be beaten on price.

Ordered 2 x Hydragrip from event tyres. £68 each inc fitting at my office tomorrow afternoon!
