What up and coming games are you looking forward to ?

Big fan of the simulator series, so stuff like Cooking sim, Car mechanic, Train mechanic. They're all confirmed as coming, maybe one day Farm sim and Train sim world show up. Trainz 2019 made noises about VR, but they have gone silent on the idea. Truck sim in VR has shown me the light, trawling through endless relaxing scenery is rather satisfying, hopefully one day that'll be in British Rail diesel.

Zen say they've a big VR announcement coming, hopefully that's Pinball FX3VR. With over 700hrs in FX2VR you could say that'll be my game of the year if that happens, be it an expensive one:)

Not a lot else, Low-Fi looks good, Green Hell, Sniper Elite if they don't balls it up for multi format, big 'if' that given the delays...

Like every year though, something big will drop that nobody knows about yet.

I just don't get it, why do the vr new releases like this have to look so bad!? Graphically it's like something from 15 years ago and the movement looks so grating

Games have to run at 4k resolution at 90fps which affects the detail level. Also most VR games are developed by smaller developers who don't have the skills, tools, or resources of the AAA studios, so the quality tends to be lower (with some exceptions). Also recent games are targeted at Quest/Quest 2 because that's where the money is.

This is why the Oculus PC exclusives were so important - the standards were generally as good as AAA studios (and in some cases developed by AAA studios), and they really pushed VR forward. Unfortunately it's unlikely we'll get any more Oculus PC exclusives (even Lone Echo II is rumoured to be coming to Quest 2).
