Ok im on quite a tight budget, i currently have a AMD XP2400+, 1G PC3200, 256MB PC2700, X1950gt (AGP). I would like to upgrade the mobo and processor (ok for £100 im not going to get much) but still be able to use my DDR ram and Agp gfx card.........whats the best i can get for my money that would give me the biggest improvement over what i already have........thanks

You'd be suprised. If you have a look around the member market (if you have access) you can make £100 stretch quite a long way. As a general guide though look for second hand in the usual places and an Asrock dual S939 should be yours for around £25 which uses current card but gives you an upgrade path to PCIe (it can take either). £40ish for a lower end dual core leaving £35 to spend as you wish.

You wanna get an ASRock Dual VSTA - the Dual S939 won't support a 775 socket (Core2Duo) only socket 939 :) But yeah, one of those mobos, 2nd hand CPU, save up for 2gb ram... your GFX is fine. Then your sorted :D
