Just built a new desk so we can setup two pcs, so my fiancee is now ready for me to start building her one.

This is an opportunity for me to upgrade :)

My PC

Asus Z77 Sabertooth Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 7970 3072MB PCI-Express Graphics Card
Intel Core i7-2600 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail
2 x Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1600C9)

Monitors are the 24inch Dell Ultrasharp U2410, and an older monitor - which I'll probably look to replace in this upgrade.

I will keep my 512gb SSD :D and hand down a 80gb SSD as her primary and have a 1gb for her secondary.

I'm thinking I should upgrade CPU, Memory and Monitor passing on my current to my fiancée's new build.

Not 100% sure whether to upgrade the graphics card, she wants to spend no more than £500 - so I can put some of this towards mine.

You already have a monster rig mate, I don't see much scope for your upgrading that would give you any meangiful increase in performance. I think you should probably just wait a bit until the next gen stuff comes out.

:D I was afraid of that.. after some browsing I think you're right..

probably should just upgrade my second monitor..

I agree with CPU upgrade. You could hand her your current i5 2600 and then just got for a reasonable priced B75 or H77 board (considering the i5 2600 won't be able to overclock), and then your can upgrade the CPU to a i5 3570K.

However the rumor is that Haswell is around the corner...and if you can wait, may be you can pass the current motherboard over to her as well. But the only concern is there's still confirmed launch date that, and it could turn into case of "it's coming, it's coming...and then few months has passed and still not see it on the shelf".
