What use do ThinClients have today?

They're great for end-user terminals. They use very little electricity, have a small footprint, are easy to update and maintain. For applications that lend themselves to thin clients, thin clients are spectacular. 
Software licencing.
Some expensive software products still haven't amended their licencing rules to take into account thin clients. This mean you only need one licence for many users because the software is only executed on the server.
