Depends what you want from your server?

Maybe set up a webserver, apache, php, mysql. Email server.

Dont really need any of that though, iv got e-mail through a web-host, and all the rest of it...

Sorry to hijack the thread,

does pc anywhere allow you to control every aspect of the computer eg, you get a desktop window as if you are on the other pc. thanks

Very handy, I have one on my server and a mapped network drive on my work pc. If i need any files from home i just dial up, copy the files, bang, done. Saves having to mess around with remote desktop.

yes and you dont need to open the rdp port, just a secure vpn port.
