Fennels usually White bulb with thin bushy whisker like leafs.

are you sure it's fennel, the leaves are usually very fine

Apparently similar to broccoli stem. Think that should go in a sausage stew.

With fennel I roast with tomatoes, onions, courgettes, aubergines and small pieces of chorizo - maybe it'll work with kohlrabi too

Kohlrabi is a brassica (cabbage family) with the bulb tasting kind of like a turnip. It is lovely sliced thin in salads

It does look a lot like fennel, and in fairness fennel is usually tgrimmed right down.

God that was good.

Sausage, fennel and kohlrabi stew with cheddar dumplings.
Was meant to be with bread, but that's not working so well.

It very much is, like nicer broccoli stem, sweeter and more tender.
And I agree it would be fantastic in coleslaw.

Grate into salads.

Matchstick it and stir fry.

Stews.

It also lasts forever assume the skin isn't damaged.
