What version of photoshop do I need for these tutorials

I'm currently working with photoshop elements 2 & I've tried a couple of the tutorials but I get to a point where my version of PS does not have the functions that the tutorials does. I see the latest version of photoshop is £550 & I'm not paying that for just messing about.

Is there an alternative option, like I say I would only be using photoshop for fun - or at least to start with.

Go to Adobe.com and download Photoshop CS2 for free.

You have 30 days until it no longer works. Then you can decide whether to buy it.

There is a student version as well for a lot cheaper. If you're a student of course.
