Having trouble, wont boot with small overclocks..

using

P5KE WiFi AP
e4500
4gb Ocx PC800
Gf 9600GT

Any tips for this board? it's more complex than my 680, everything has 2 voltage settings. i thought the easiest thing would be ramp *** bus to 266 and *** cpu voltage aroun 1.3125, but it wont post wit these settings

any ideas, what are other people using?

What Bios are you running? Yeah fine FSB 266,RAM speed 533, CPU volts about 1:3250 Also disable speedstep and C1E support.
Should boot up no problem.

thansk for the info, i will give it another try tommorrow, don't understand why it's being to tough to get clocked.

I just set the vcore and RAM voltages manually, everything else Auto, Speedstep disabled. Also manually set the RAM DDR strap. Atm my bus is set to 400FSB for a 1:1 ratio @ 1.368v (according to CPU-Z), gonna see if I can tighten the voltage a bit.

If it's 4x 1Gb sticks, the RAM might get moody, so will need to up the RAM voltage slightly to get it stable too.

I think i found out why i've been having difficulty... CPU-Z, HWMonitor and PCProbe II both reporting 1.24v on the CPU, but the bios is set to 1.35v.

I'm guessing there is an undervolt going on in there somewhere, as i am now getting some success!

Thanks for your help, any more tips are fully welcome!

BIOS is 0806, what's the best for this board for overclocking, i see there are a few updates.

Go into your BIOS. In the advanced section I think you'll find a setting called Calibration Load Line it will probabley be on AUTO, so set it to ENABLE. Save settings etc etc. Check what Probe says now. Shouldn't be much different to the BIOS. Now at this point you should know that although ASUS added this feature to there BIOS its quite controversial (read up on it). Some people think its good others not so good. Us Overclockers want it to be good. :D For me I'd wonder about its use above 1.5 volts buts thats just me. Be interesting to hear other peoples observations.

Mine came shipped with 0806 too, downloaded the 1004 BIOS and used ASUS' handy EZ Flash option in the BIOS settings to update it.

upgraded to the latest 1012 BIOS and has almost fixed the low voltage issue, finally getting some success with this board!

1012 BIOS you say? When I checked a few days ago I noticed the 1006 beta, but stuck to the 1004 due to good things about it.
