Hi , I am looking to buy a vr . I would like for it to be able to be connected to my pc. My specs on pc are: 2060 super , 10400f , 16gb 3600mhz cl16 ram and 500gb ssd

My budget for a vr is £300-£400 . What should i buy ?

Unlikely but it IS the best value at the moment, if you dont hate facebook.
Alright , i dont mind facebook . What about the quest 3 ? Is there a release date on that ? If it is in the upcoming months i think i will save my money for now and get a quest 3 when it comes

Doesn't look like we will see a quest3 before well into 2023, rumour is Facebook plan to release a higher end VR headset first that will be at least 2-3x the price.

I believe quite a few quest 2 titles support haptic suits now.

No release date on q3 yet, but not this year. Get a q2, or maybe a second hand q2, and sell it on when the q3 is due to release, or something else you'd rather.

Basically with your budget the q2 is close to your only option. Pico neo 3 is another I believe that's £400, The few people that have them seem to like them as PCVR, but it's a cable link, whereas not having to use cables is pretty fantastic.

Alright but i really would like pcvr as well to make my games look better. In the steam vr performance test i get a score of 11, is there a wireless pcvr on the quest 2?

Q2 does wireless PCVR. I'm not sure if the Pico Neo does. The Neo has a better cable connection than the q2.

Steam VR performance test is not really relevant any more, headsets are far more demanding. However you should be able to run pcvr on a 2060 super I believe, just won't be able to crank up the settings etc.

I believe the developer of virtual desktop is working on a version for the pico neo 3

I'm looking at the quest for me and my twins to play on.

My router is in the livingroom where I'd have the quest being used. My gaming PC is in my office which is the floor above the livingroom and slightly across a bit (bedrrom is directly above the router location/livingroom) I use a wireless dongle to connect the PC to the router just now for internet access. Would that "dongle" connection on my PC have any effect on performance, if I tried to use wireless air connection to play PC games on the Quest?

Trying to get connection of my PC and router, via Ethernet cable, would prove a problem as the router is the floor below and opposite side of the room. Routing a long ethernet cable would not be an option due to money needed to running the wire up the wall and through the floor to the rooms above. Even then it would need to be routed from the bedroom through the wall to the office.....PITA basically, hence just using a dongle for now.

iirc it is recommended u have a 1GB wired ethernet cable between router and pc when attempting to stream games from your pc to quest 2, so your dongle probably wouldn't cut it. Your router also needs to be able to do 5ghz (for connection between quest 2 and router). You can get pretty long ethernet cables.

It would be a very poor experience, and have very bad latency, which could make you very ill very quickly.

You could try powerline adapters, if the wiring is pretty good in your house.

Could it work with upgrades in the future? for example, full body suit and haptic feedback

possibly
but i doubt it will be officially released for consumers

if you look on YT, there's videos of people using haptic feedback suits and gloves on the Quest 2

If you want VR NOW, Quest 2 defiantly
if you can wait a year then you might have then next generation VR headsets out or coming out shortly after like the Metas Cambria and Valves Deckard m and Apples first VR headset
