What was it called (3rd part servers for consoles)?

This has been bugging me for a few days now so if someone could help me remember it's name, I'd appreciate it.

I remember hearing about a website/service for console gamers that would host competitive games on the sites own servers. It offer prizes and leaderboards etc. It was raved about by some of the top CoD commentators on youtube (including TmarTn and WoodysGamertag).

Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

Nope.

both Halo and COD are P2P, which being some of the most popular console games leads everybody to believe that all console games are. But they're not.

its not even a playstation specific thing as the latest Gears of War uses dedicated servers does it not ? Battlefield on the xbox also uses dedicated servers.

As i said, it is no longer console specific. However dedicated servers on 360 games is quite a new thing, it's been happening on the PS3 since it was released.
