Those were the true golden days of the GPU, everyone seems to thing dual GPU's and Sli etc are moder ideas I well remember drooling over Voodoo 2's in Sli back in like 97 or something!

I seem to remember having a voodoo 2 back in 1998 which could be paired up for more power.

dual gpu's go back that long im really surprized i though the 3870x2 was the first

I actually owned an ATi Rage Fury MAXX.

I got ATi to swap it for free to a Radeon DDR when they gave up developing Windows 2000 drivers for it.

AFAIK the first dual/multi GPU cards were the Voodoo Obsidian range - tho intended more for arcade machines than desktop PCs - I had one without the daughter board in my PC tho.
