What was your first ever CPU?

100MHz something, not sure as it was in an old Compaq I bought for £100 to play around with. Theory was if I broke it it wouldn't be the end of the world. Ever since then I've had AMD CPU's, the next may well be Intel i5 2500K

Was it worth it? Why not just go 1200 to 4400? I'd say a CPU is only worth considering if it at least tipples CPU performance.

overclocking trying to find the best processor. most of those CPU's were sub £100.

the X2 4400 was the longest CPU ive owned (and most expensive at £550ish), from 2004 till 2010
