what was your first lesson like?

I only had a couple of lessons just before the test to brush up on manoeuvres, so by the time i had my "first" lesson i was quite confident and pretty much ready for my test.

I wouldn't expect any less from a wheeler dealer barrow boy such as yourself :p

i just found that i was sort of in shock that i was driving the car lol,and with all the infomation the instructor was telling me,my head was all over the place.I wasnt too bad with the peddles just consentration when he was telling me what to do ect,and when changing gear i was too busy looking at gear stick and taking eyes off the road :o

I honestly believe that my many hours of driving sims, GPL, GTR and RBR using the Logitech G25 helped me get to grips with the car controls.

First lesson was pretty uneventful iirc, slow driving on some very quiet roads to get used to the truely awful diesel Corsa i was learning in. :(

It made much more sense to me to buy a car (as i'd have to anyway after passing) and then pay for some provisional insurance which is actually quite cheap. Lessons at the time were £22p/h (2002) which really didnt make sense when learning the basics of driving and confidence behind the wheel can be tought to myself for nothing.

My sister wrote off my mothers car while she was teaching her so i found it impossible for anyone to take me out :(

£22ph sounds a lot in 2004 i was paying £18ph

My first lesson was at the late age of 22!

Can't remember fully, but i'm sure we just went on a quiet estate and practised clutch control, steering and probably got into 3rd gear...
