Antec Super Lanboy was my first proper case, full of green lights and LED fans and I bloody loved it haha.

I then switched to the P180

Antec P180
I had two of these, for the Core 2 Duo E6300 build in ~2006, and one for the i7 920 ~2009 (still going as mum's pc in 2022 :) ).

Ran this case for god knows how long, only gave it away last summer as I went for a smaller build

I still have fond memories of my full tower Chieftec Dragon case in Purple.
I wonder how todays components would have performed inside it these days?
80mm fans are frighteningly loud. Those cases were the original Alienware back in 2000/1/2.

I had numerous beige cases for years, my first PC that I owned that wasn’t a family computer was from TIME with an Athlon 700 with a Creative TNT 2 Ultra I bought separately.

My first proper case that I remember was Coolermaster 201 a couple of years after that. Still the greatest case and I don’t intend on selling it ever. Although I don’t use it for my current systems, I do like building in it now and then :)
TIME Computers brings back memories. My Uncle had one from 2005-6? AMD Athlon 64 X2 think it was. It was a small midi case with one fan. PSU at the top. My hands always stunk of steel working in them.

Now thats going back to my old Pentium 4 that I liquid cooled. It was a green Cheiftec Dragon with side window panel. I still have one, minus the windowed panel, it has a solid panel instead. Was going to use it in a build, but might sell it on. Not got the parts to put in it until my next upgrade.

I've still got my Corsair C70 in the garage, have no idea what it's worth to get rid of

Probably nil. People today don't want cases with drive bays and lots of hard drive cages in sight. Full tempered glass side and front panels seems to be all the rage for years now with lots of space hidden. Including built in RGB. Clean buttons and exterior.

Plus it seems so many are into compact cases mostly.

My first proper pc case was the Antec Mini P180. I absolutely adored that case, with its sound proofing panels and decent airflow. It had those latches at the front which had a airfilter behind it for easy removal. Big 200mm fan at the top and a 120mm rear exhaust with dual compartment for psu at the bottom and core components at the top. I still have it but gave it to my cousin to use but he's since returned it to me. I window modded the side panel with a nice piece of acrylic.

A Thermaltake Soprano mid tower in 2006, which was almost as bad looking as any case design back then, but it was a bit better because it had a front flap to hide my drives and air intake. Inside was grey, PSU mounted at the top, airflow was pretty poor.

A wonderful black Globalwin 802...and I still have it my attic covered and boxed.

Was billed as the OcUK Coolercase Extreme with 4x 120mm YS Tech fans (again still have those) and was just really, really loud...but not Delta level loud. Must be nearly 20 years old now.

I added Akasa acoustic padding (a messy patchwork) and a Nexus fan controller with quieter Akasa fans. Its seen many different setups. First were the Athlon XP 2500 & 3200 then Athlon 64 4000.

Really learnt a lot in those early DIY days - especially my idea of acceptable decibels :D

A £30 quid cooler master after the typical beige monsters, then moved to an Antec 900 which I bought of these forums, great case which I ended up donating to a charity build when I got a silverstone rv-02w-ew which I still have a 2500k build in lol.

A Globalwin 802 which I bought from OcUK, I did have a couple of cases I bought from an office and business computing place a few years before for my first ever builds, but 'proper' case, I would say the 802 in beige (these were heavily modded at the time by people and could be purchased in black later on iirc which was fairly unheard of then)

To expand a bit further, I notice a lot of people mentioned the Chieftec Dragon, well that was what I actually replaced the 802 with, a silver Chieftec Dragon, but this was a few years later in the socket A Athlon era iirc where as the 802 was bought in the prior era of the socket 370 Celeron's, I had a Celeron 300A overclocked to 500Mhz in mine for example, that was replaced by a 700Mhz Athlon Slot A chip, that was a heck of an upgrade aswell, the first Athlon felt hugely powerful compared to all that went before.

I think the first case I bought as an upgrade was an Antec Sonata. The I go the P180 or P182, then I got an Antec 300 (I think that is the number), oh an Antec 900, and then I got the Coolermaster Haf X from 2011 to 2021! I am now using the Lian Li Lancool 2, a bargain! It was about £90.00!

I have just seen the sequel case, the Lian Li Lancool 3, 140 mil fans all the way through and good reviews!
