what webcam?

im after a webcam for online chat and some recording but im unsure what one is worthy to get,

ive seen a lot of recommendations for the logitech 9000 but the price is a little steep for me, also seen a lot of recommendations for the eye toy? Would that do decent quality recordings?

If ye want good iq id go proper CCD video in with a capture card.

I got a creative live ultra2 £65 a while ago which was about the best at the time & claimed 1.3mp photo & vga 640x480 video record BUT instead the 1.3mp photo was very poor with many artifacts & the video was like that of a cheap CIF £10 webcam.
To top it all off, when the cam was left on overnight it burnt out & now everything is magenta.

I bought (but had to bid for it) a logitech 6000 (I think) and managed to get it as low as £20. It's an excellent cam and takes good pictures.

Hi, PS2 Eyetoy make very good quality web cam, just google for the tutorials and drivers to set it up and you should be good to go and get one for very cheap these day at the usual places.
