I'm currently using an 55" LG CX as my primary gaming monitor in my mancave. But obviously I need to sit in a sofa some feet away as it would be a no go if I say at desk. I have to say it's been a great experience I've had it 2 years and no sign of any burn in but it is a tv. So I've got my eye on the Samsung odyssey G8 oled. Would there be any problems with my Nvidia 4090 FE. Should I wait for a better resolution monitor I'm not sure what's coming out this year. Thanks :)

G8 seems to be fine Jimbo, they're all much of a muchness. I went back to my PG48UQ as the image quality is just far superior imo, plus I have the option of running a 3840x1600 Ultrawide res when I want to (equivalent of roughly a 40in Ultrawide with the black bars, looks awesome) :)

From my experience of owning a Samsung G8 I've found it has an excellent built quality and a fantastic picture. Make sure you update to the latest firmware though, 1444, as that resolves the blank screen issue when the PC places the monitor in sleep mode.
Some say that the tizen os is sluggish compare to Dell's offering, but that's not a fair comparison as the Samsung is doing far more than just a monitor and bridges a gap between being a monitor and a tv. That part is what I really like as you can watch Netflix etc in glorious HDR10+, source permitting, without having to turn on your PC.
Any questions please feel free to ask away..

Thank you cuke2u very kind of you. Well ive not heard anything really negative with regards to the G8 yet, well apart from samsungs burn in warranty but im not overly concerned as i think it wont be an issue anyway. Personality+ yes im interested in the new G9 too so im waiting for the review from Monitors unboxed, as long as its ok to use sitting at a desk its worth considering too.

No problem, any screen burn warranty is a gray area, if it actually will occur if the correct precautions are taken, as you rightly state. The handful of QD-OLED's tv's with which this has occurred have had the warranty honoured...
