We've got a nest(?) of baby spiders in our back garden. Two actually, one on the gate and one on the recyling bin. They're a weird yellow and black colour.

So what will they grow into? Will they kill my Dad whilst he's out earning a living or are they normal boring spiders that I can just leave to eat all the ants and flies in the garden to protect the accidental potato crop we've got going?

Spider venom is designed to work on smaller animals, but the venom of some species can produce skin lesions in people or produce allergic reactions that result in fatalities. It is important to understand, however, that “death by spider bite” is very rare since clinics, poison control centers, and hospitals often have various species-specific antivenin (the antitoxin) on hand to treat the bite.

Be very careful, considering the state of the NHS there may not be any antivenom in stock.
