So i just checked 'Samknows' exchange checker and noticed these two new entries regarding 21CN & FTTC...

Currently im on a slow (but uber reliable) 3.5-4Mbit DSL connection ( i can get a 50mbit Virgin connection as well) but just hate the unreliable nature of Cable internet in my area...

So i was wondering if anyone has a clue as to what sort of speeds i could expect (any difference at all?) after the said upgrades...

Probably a small increase with ADSL2+, increase with FTTC will depend on the wiring between the roadside cab and your house.

I synced at 4500-5000 on Max 6000-7000 on ADSL2+ with actual throughput varying depending on the time of day and now have a 37Mb/s (no line stats available) download rate on FTTC with about 250m between my house and the cab (plotting a path by the BT inspection covers as a guestimate of line length).

Yeah my exchange has same date for 21CN but no date for FTTC. Don't really know much about 21CN and what benefits it may offer but think being on Be LLU is better for me until FTTC comes.

Ha, I didn't notice that, those dates are wrong then.

Great...so that probably means FTTC isnt due until 2011 then?....

But I thought FTTC was the better upgrade, maybe they have decided to go straight to a FTTC upgrade?.and bypass the 21CN update, hence the earlier date...
