Try getting your hands on a copy of the fingerprint of the gods by Graham Hancock. It talks about the Mayan prophecies and stuff. And how there was probably a semi-advanced civilisation before the egyptians. Hence why the great pyramids are so good yet the others kinda fell apart. It's quite inetersting (excluding 60 pages of map talk)

Yeah they saw the universe as cyclic and analogous to act of breathing in and out. Currently we reaching the end of the outward breath cycle which is why the world is so focused on the external world, materialism and seperation. On 2012 the inward cycle of breth begins which is about re-connection, unity and a lot more orientated around the inner world and consciousness.

Also cycles of development speed up. Currently we're in the galactic cycle which began in either 1999 or 2000 and lasts for 12 years. Previously we were in the power cycle which lasted 50 years. The mayans said that consciousness is always accelerating and that the same amount of acceleration (both material and spritual) what previously took 50 years in the power cycle will only take 12 years in the galactic cycle. At the end of 2011 the final universal cycle begins and the same developments that preiously took 12 years will happen in 1 year and reach it's zenith in dec 21 2012.

They've recorded these cycles all the way back to the beginning of time and the universe which they very accurately predicted was 16 billion years ago.

Cycles were at first happening every billion years, then every 100 million years, ect until today in which conciousness currently cycles and expands every 12 months compared to every billion years when it first began.

One way of percieving these cycles is why technology has made more progress over the past decade than it did over the previous century.

No it's not, it's the end of the 13th 394 year period. It just so happens that according to their myths the previous creation ended at that time. The fact that they have found date inscriptions indicating dates past 2012 supports the idea that they didn't expect anything cataclysmic to happen this time around.

I think conspiracy theorists have moved on to the idea that 2012 is not doomsday. The Mayan calender and a correctly translated bible indicates the 'end of an era' not doomsday. Conspiracy theorists now believe something major will happen - perhaps something about aliens revealing themselves.

I'd just like to say that I don't necessarily agree with conspiracy theories.. but I do have a lot of interest in reading and watching things about them... kind of like a novel.
