What windscreen cleaner do you use?

In the past I've used a bog standard house window cleaner on my windscreen with a rag, but I've got a new (2nd hand) car and I'm feeling flashy.

I've been looking at proper windscreen cleaning products and there's a staggering amount of choice. Also some of them are for exterior only, so does that mean there's products that are designed solely for interior use?

Can anyone recommend a decent cleaner?

House window cleaner is historically a bad choice, home window cleaners are generally meant to also make the windows look shiny, that doesn't generally make them easy to look through.

I usuallt use whatever Autoglym glass cleaner I can get through work at the time I need to top up.

Edit: Internally you get the option of defogging formula's, not sure which one I have at the minute as it's in the shed...

Autobrite Directs New Vision Window cleaner is excellent. And the hydrophobic properties create excellent beading. Can cruise on motorway in light rain rain without wipers on as just runs off. If you want to take it a step up then use their Repel Windscreen treatment

I normally don't use anything extra for the windscreen and just use the car shampoo when I clean the car however, I need to look at products to "deep clean" the windscreen as it's covered in "spots" that just won't come off and they really show up in the low winter sun up here and is getting annoying. Time to do some research I think.

I need to properly clean the inside of my windscreen, it's as though it's a slightly damp fog. It's OK if I'm driving in daytime but at night, it's really not nice.

Inside is the tough bit - need to be a contortionist to rub at the base of the screen without leaving product on the dash, I usually reach in from outside bracing yourself with other arm on the roof.
also trying not knock the rv mirror off (again)
back screen with the horizontal heating wires you have to polish, accurately between, difficult too.

AutoGlym Fast Glass is good. And every now and then I decontaminate the windscreen with Glaco Soft 99 Compound. I find that eventually, after a good few full 3 stage washes where a power-washer applied spray on finishing wax is used (currently using Koch Chemie PW), the overspray which is pretty much unavoidable can leave a streaky film on the glass which glass cleaner alone won't remove.

I'll also now and again give the glass a quick claying in between using the Glaco.

For a proper decontamination etc, then I think I've seen several detailers use Glaco Soft 99 Abrasive Glass Cleaner.. not something you do regularly, but very good for a real big detox.

]You can then apply anything you want on top, it's what people use before adding hydrophobic coatings to glass to make sure it's a ultra clean surface.

Can't recommend something off the top of my head but I've found these products tend to be good a year or two on release then progressively go down the toilet as they tweak the formula - probably to increase profits.

Yep Stoners glass cleaner (they also do one with repellant for external use only). Or I also really like Gtechniq G6 Perfect Glass, or Gyeon Q2M Glass. Best cloth I've found to use with them that doesn't leave lint behind is the Purestar high density glass towel. Just remember to keep them away from any other cloth or microfibre to avoid contamination. You can as well, which I've just started to do, is use a magic eraser. Soak in clean warm water, squeeze out excess and use that inside and out. Then follow with products mentioned. :)

Thanks for all the suggestions.

On the weekend I went to Halford and picked up some "Armor All Shield + Ceramic Glass Treatment & Cleaner". Wanted to get something quickly because of all the wet weather this week.

Glass is clean and I've definitely noticing it "repeling" water, but the problem is that when I have my windscreen wiper on, they leave marks behind which last for a few seconds. So if I have the wiper on full speed, I've got a bit of a misty/fog effect. Hardly ideal.

Any idea what I've done wrong here? Or how I fix it?

How old are the wipers? The blades could have contaminant on them and may need cleaning or replacing.
