What wireless device do I need?

Hi all, I have BT Infinity at the moment with a BT Home Hub 3. Ethernet and powerline connections are great and I get anything between 50 and 80 Mbps. However, my WiFi is pretty terrible. I used to get anything between 20 and 40 Mbps all around the house which I was happy with, but recently I've been struggling to get 2 Mbps, even when sitting right next to the HH3!! I've changed channels, reset my router etc.

I was wondering if there was a device I could buy that could be used upstairs which connects to the HH3 via powerline, and then provides WiFi? I wasted a good few hours of my day off yesterday trying to sort out the WiFi from the HH3 and it is still annoying the heck out of me. I don't know if it's the HH3 that is problematic or not, especially when I'm sitting right next to it, and my laptop, iPhone and iPad struggle.

I'm going to try and reset it again tomorrow, because I would like to avoid buying a different router if possible seeing as it was working fine before, but I have been interested in some sort of wireless extender/repeater or whatever it's called for a while.

Under the HH3, what revision is it? A or B? A apparently had wifi problems which B fixed, although my A was fine... until there was too many wireless devices connected to it :p.

You could buy either a wireless router or switch, both will do what you're after. Might be best to buy a router instead though so it can do the powerline to HH3 as well as replacing it if needed.

Some decent ones here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?catid=1596&groupid=46&sortby=priceAsc&subid=1934

The Asus RT-N56U/N66U are the popular choices but they cost quite a bit. I opted for the RT-53 since it's a fair bit cheaper than those two and it's been great, apart from the 5GHz wireless band (although I don't really need it in my area).

It's revision B with the latest firmware. I would say I have about 5 wireless devices connected to it and I've never had an issue with speeds until recently.

A router was something I was considering to powerline with the HH3, so I'll look into it but I'm not looking for something that might replace the HH3 as that might cost more than what I want to spend.

I've been looking at powerline adapters with built in WiFi such as the one that TP-Link offer and it will set me back around £40. All my six powerline adapters atm are also made by them. Does that and a router setup do pretty much the same thing?
