What would a upgrade bring vs my BT home hub 6?

Downloads are usually WAN limited, as Wi-Fi is for IoT and things like mobile phones and tablets that lack a physical port, what sort of speeds are you seeing and under what circumstances? If you provide context, you’ll get better advice.

The short answer is no. The newer BT kit is actually very good for WLAN in my experience.

While I wouldn’t disagree it’s technically one of the more capable ISP supplied routers, that doesn’t allow for the common issue of an AIO device being unable to adequately cover a property in terms of Wi-fi, which is why op really needs to provide some context.

Yes, and no. If the issue is stability, it’s unlikely that the OP would see a benefit because the 3x3 chipset in the HH6 is actually excellent. Likewise, speed is unlikely to improve because (as you pointed out) it’s typically WAN limited and if not it tends to be client limited (2x2 client on a 3x3 system makes everything run 2x2).

I suspect in the end it will be the usual suggestion - run a cable to the gaming PC. Speed and stability in one hit.
