yea this is one i was looking at do you think my current set up will hold it back or bottle neck it? my monitor is 2560x1440, and i dont mind putting it down to 1080, which i have done in the witcher 3

Nah, at 4.6 you will be fine with that card. If you went CF though you would start to see a bottleneck in some games.

You may want to make sure your boards BIOS is on the latest version to help it "see" the newer GFX card releases.

im concerned about the fact the m/b is only pcie 2.0. this wont be a problem?

For benching, you would notice it but for gaming, mostly it won't even account for 1 fps difference between 2.0 and 3.0.

And good point Stulid. Make sure your BIOS is updated or you could well be running into black screens and no boots.

Cool. There was many threads with your MOBO and newer GPUs that had no boot or other problems and switching to the latest BIOS solved it.

never mind i just got the 390x its only £50

Good move, For a 50 quid difference it's the better choice and you won't need to drop your res anymore which is good.

The 390x is close to Fury performance and I run all my games through vsr at 2560x1440 or 4k on my 1080p screen so you'll be great.

hope my other hardware wont let it down. dont think i can stretch to a new system yet

Stick with that 2500K, the 4770K was/is the worst upgrade ive done.

Don't get me wrong great cpu for programs, encoding an photoshop etc but for gaming ive noticed minor changes.

I had my 2500K @4.4 under water best chip i've had.
