My new cooler should be here either tomorrow or Tuesday along with my new CPU

I have got my self the AMD Phenom II x6 1090T

At the same time i purchased a Corsair H70 Cooler.

I am currently running a Thermal take after market cooler (forgot model no, with a 12cm fan)

My current CPU (AMD Phenom II x4 970 BE) sits at 40 degrees C under load with this cooler.

(reason for changing, i am upgrading missus pc, shes having my cpu)

What do you all think?

Should I use the Corsair H70 cooler on the X6? or stick with the Air cooler i have at the moment?

Edit: I will be looking to OC this, when i get finished, im running 8gb Ram, on a GA-MA790FXT-UD5P

main reason im wondering is, where ever i read it says they are very noisey.

One other question

Does the H70 have to be mounted on the rear ran slot? Can I mount it on the top fan locations?

Top is the best place for air to exit the system. Bear in mind that they recommend fitting them to the air is being drawn in cold and blowing into the case - the exact opposite of what you would normally do. However, I have found that by using better fans (read quieter and more cfm) that you can still get excellent cooling from using the traditional method, ie suck from the inside and blow outside :)

yeah, i have just noticed this.

Its not a major problem. As at the moment.

Pulling air in = 1 x 120mm at front, 1 at side.

Exhausting Air 1 x 120mm at the back, and 1 x 140mm at the top.

After reading that, i think i may put 2 x 120mm fans on the top for exhaust.

1 x 120mm on front, 1 x 120mm on side (this one goes to the Graphics cards)

then let the H70 pull air in from the back?

any other recommendations?
