What would be needed for 4 or more DVDRW drives in an otherwise typical PC?

Random question I know, just someone was asking me if anything special would be needed to have a load of lightscribe drives in his machine.

I assume a motherboard with loads of SATA ports and of course a chunky power supply or is there more to it? Not entirely sure what he's doing lol but is it simple in theory?

Or is it better to have some kind of external bay system? Which I know nothing about..

Sorry for the vagueness! :)

The power supply wont matter much, four spare sata ports and space for the drives would be enough. It would be harder to do it with pata drives, as I can't think of a current motherboard with two appropriate sockets.

Should let him know that lightscribe doesn't really do colours, in case he hasn't discovered this yet. It wont do holograms either :)

some one entering the duplication business;)

nothing special that i can think of, enough sata / ide ports spare enough spare power and molex connections and enough 5.25" bays free

Sounds simple enough then, thanks guys I will tell him look into motherboards with loads of sata ports and a well sized case for the job in hand :)

wanna buy dvd ?

Sounds totally fishy having 4 drives but as above, just make sure you have ample supply of SATA ports available, or look for getting a SATA expansion card.
