So guys and Gals,

I would like opinions on what you would think would be a beneficial upgrade to my system next, used for gaming and media .
I5 2500k @4.7
MSI Z68a something motherboard
8gb DDr1600mhz mem
850w PSU
MSI 670 OC Power edition
Zalman Gaming case

No rig seems fine on all games ect, Just wanted to keep on top of the upgrading of the spec that's all,
Its a BFG psu not 100% on the model,
Does a good hdd really make a difference as i think both mine are getting on a bit

are you using mechanical hard drives? as a SSD would increase loading times of your pc and the software installed onto them, also gives the computer a smoother feel to it.

BFG look to be decent on the PSU side but I guess it depends on the model. Can you find the exact model. Chances are its great but you wouldnt want to risk it.

I can’t see why you would upgrade until a component either dies or struggles to do what you ask it to, however if you are using it for media and looking to upgrade perhaps a sound card to improve the sound with a decent speaker set up?

Yea will find the model of the psu but i am pretty sure its a good one comes with a life time guaranty
Yea i am using mechanical hdd's at the mo have 1tb and a 500gb drive, both are sata2 will a sata 3 see a noticeable difference or just go straight to hdd.
As far as sounds goes i am all good on that front

What monitor are you using as the system looks sound to me, Maybe upgrade your monitor if you have a **** one.

ok yea i think an ssd is in order,
But i would like the fastest one around ie read wright speeds,
Also i am running my rig off my Tv through hdmi as i also use it for my tv and film programs.

Spec read and write speeds down give a real indication of actual speeds. The 840's have to go be the best or one of the best SSD's around.

No because thats not random write speeds. Thats benchmarking but in real work performance its about random write and read speeds.

If you can afford a bigger one get it. Filled up 128GB in no time at all. Have heard that the larger ones are faster too but don't quote me on that
