What would cause consistent crashes on a specific map?

Right guys, weird one.

Playing CS:GO Beta, it runs perfectly on practically every map, but on cs_office it ALWAYS crashes after a few mins, just locks up and I have to turn it off manually I cannot do anything and the sound locks up to.

I've had problems with crashing in the past, but never so weird for it to run the game perfect but a specific map?

Guess what my favourite map is aswell...

I don't have the overclock anymore it's just stock, got rid of that a while ago. May try new RAM or GPU.

But the RAM passes memtest no problems and GPU runs furmark no problems for hours. Just not sure what else would be causing the problem.

Is it possible for a gpu to have faulty shaders? As I just played dust 1 and 2 for about 2 hours, office locked up within 5 minutes but it's a much darker map and dust is very bright and light, could it be a problem with my gpu handling the shaders or something? Baffled.

The first 6970 I had would crash in certain gmaes where the fps went above 200. I rma'd and bought a different brand with no issues.

A friends 6970 that has worked flawlessly for a year has started to crash randomly when playing back video. The card does it in a completely different machine too.

Is your game installed on a mechanical HD? You may have bad sectors.

Just some more thoughts.

Nope it's on an SSD, and i've reformatted twice over the last 2 days cause of a new SSD as a boot drive so it's not the drive it's reading them off. :(

Think i'm gonna have to buy a gpu and just test it out I think.

Before you fork out for new hardware, defragment and verify the games' integrity via Steam, if you haven't already :)
