dual core amd laptop with 2gb ram and (i assume on board) 8400m gs gfx.
Tried to install latest live messenger when popup appeared, installed then rolled back requesting windows be updated to sp2 (vista currently on sp1)
updated to sp2 ran windows live messenger update and screen corrupted after a short while, screen is completely covered by a purple "pattern" after about a minute of this pc will reboot.
Rolled back to sp1 still same issue.
Safe mode does not have this issue, nor does this issue arise if the drivers are removed.
updated to newest drivers and screen corrupted with a different pattern the second that vista had loaded (before logon) same again rebooted after a minute or so and went to the windows failed to start screen.
Going into safe mode and removing drivers and then using driver sweeper enables me to reinstall the newest gfx drivers and pc works fine again (for a while), once the purple screen arives though the nest bootup i get the other issue where screen corrupts even before logon (which the drivers installed originally did not do)
Any ideas ?
