what would GD do?

I'd say "Hi mate, how come you made the ****** sign into my camera?" with a bemused look while looking him right in the eye and see what he says, then whatever he replies just say "ok" like he's an idiot

A guy at my work recently had a burger trying to get in. The Ring doorbell notified him someone was moving around outside, while he was on a train commuting. He looked at the real-time video and could see a man trying to get in. His daughter was alone in the house at the time.

So he called the police and told the burger he had. He ran off but the police were later able to identify the burgler from the footage.

If it wasn't for the camera then the burgler may have got into the house where his teenage daughter was.

Double cheese? :D

There’s 2 locked gates and two 4 point lock patio doors to get through. They’d be too knackered to do any burgling by the time they got in.
Just to clarify:

1 x front door video surveillance
2 x locked gates
2 x 4 point lock patio doors

Any more cameras?
Any dogs?
Any "Home Alone" type boobytraps?
When is your house next likely to be vacant overnight?

Asking for a friend. ;)

You know the script. :D

yeah it's a shame you seen that, some things are not meant to be seen
i'd continue to be friendly with them and try and get on good terms
nothing worse than having neighbours you don't get on with

At least you're weary of your new neighbours now.

Can't be anything worse than having nice friendly facing neighbours, to find out they're absolute ***** behind closed doors.

Is it passive aggressive if you literally just think he's an idiot?
No, I wouldn't say so. It is passive aggressive if you say:

"Hi mate, how come you made the ****** sign into my camera?" with a bemused look while looking him right in the eye and see what he says [aggressive],

then whatever he replies just say "ok" like he's an idiot [passive]

Thoughts?

I don't think the former is aggressive at all, it's actually a genuine question, why would someone make a ****** sign into their neighbours camera given no previous issues? I'm not being aggressive, it is both a genuine question and genuine bemusement. The ok is sarcastic because there's literally no good reason to make a ****** sign into the camera, so what ever he says is going to be ********, I'm not going to excuse his behaviour by being like "haha no worries mate"

You're never wrong are you, even when provided with actual Police data and first hand examples.

To be fair I'm very rarely wrong about anything, I can certainly agree with that. ;)

I'm not actually claiming right or wrong about whether they are a decent deterrent or not, I'm on the fence about that. What I'm saying, is that data provided by the company who sell the product is not reliable in any way. The article you linked is clearly anecdotal from a tiny sample of houses, and reads like an advertisement for the company.
