Hey guys

Made a thread not long ago about Orange broadband treating us like poo, basically we've been with Orange broadband since they were Freeserve, almost 12 years now

We had an issue where our livebox started playing up, so when we upgraded packages they said they'd send us a new one. We never received it so rung up and they said "it was a mistake, sorry you dont get it, you'll have to make do with your faulty one"

A few months ago I download quite a lot and got a months restriction which I accepted as it was quite a lot and it was only fair. They never removed the restriction even though they tell me they have. I know they haven't as we get 4Mb usually, and speed tests and download speeds suggest just under 512Kb

So sent an email a while ago asking it to be lifted, they ignored it and basically said no, then I sent a letter complaining about this and the limit still in place. The reply we got after 3 weeks was "Thanks for your letter" and thats all it said

I sent another lately but still no reply

Question is, they wont let us cancel without charging us a stupidly high fee, so if I just download ridiculous amounts 24/7 will they cancel the contract? And if they do this will it affect us in getting packages with other companies?

Thanks :)

This is what i did with AOL with about 8 months left on my contract, 1st i got a warning letter about the amount i've downloaded and telling me to BLOODY STOP IT YOU GIT! so i just ignored it and carried on, a month passed and i recieved another letter saying they will be canceling my account within a month and to call for a MAC code, when i rang them they told me i don't need to pay the rest of the contract off as they're the ones canceling it, not me :D

I sharply left, joined ADSL24 and have been happy ever since!
