What would i benifit from more??

So i have a bit of spare cash.

Im currently using my stock cooler on my E6320 and am getting 65c full load at 2.6Ghz. I am running vista x64.

So my question is would i benifit from a better cooler to break the 3.0Ghz barrier OR would i see better performance from buying another 2 Gb crucial ballistix kit so i have 4gb.

Which would be greater performce gain? The overclocked cppu or the 4gb ram?

Overclocked CPU.

2Gb is enough for games and day to day app for the moment so I'd go for a decent air cooler, but even then successful oc is not quaranteed. 3Ghz + is very possible though if you have a decent mobo.

hmm i running 64 bit vista and i heard that there is a big perfomance gain when using 4gb of ram in vista 64.

Maybe but certainly not as big as a 3Ghz+ E6320.

Why? How much ram are you using now? How often do you use over 2gb?

Only if the answer to the above is over 2gb and very often would it be worth getting 4gb imo. Overclock the cpu, no cost so you may aswell.

im currently using 2 gb of ram but i swaer vista uses a whole 1 gb of ram and when running an intense game like FEAR or BF2142 all of my ram is pretty much being used up.

Well tbh mate you will see an improvement from both overclocking the cpu and increasing the ram, even if the increased ram takes a while to become apparent with new games etc.
If you have the extra cash lying around go for it
