What would I get with more expensive boards?

I just got my son the Gigabyte Z77X-D3H which seems a great board and overclocks fine with his 3750. I was thinking to gone one better and get the Z77X-UD3H (I think it has 8 pin power rather than 4, so guessing better CPU overclock stability)

Then I see a lot more expensive boards some over 300. What do you really get in real terms that's better on these boards and they lower ones seem to do everything anyway. I've always in the past got the best board I could because there was a clear difference, but the cheaper ones seem to do it all now...

The higher end boards will feature better power phase regulation, more lan ports, extra sata ports, more slots for multiple gpu use and better chipset cooling assemblys. Board choice will depend on which of theese features a particular user requires.

the ud just brings ultra durable 5 components, your not missing much really, that board will still oc very high

the high end boards are aimed at enthusiasts who use ln2 and high end watercooling to get the most out of them, aka 5ghz+ most if not all the budget boards will do 4.5-5ghz depending on cooling

Thought as much. My old system is running an MSI 790FX GD70 which was classed as a high end board when I got it, my sons D3H has much better stuff on it (obviously because its newer) but I was surprised they can overclock so well. UD3H it is then :)
