What would u do? Sell a 970 to get the 980 TI with intentions of going 1440p in a few months or sell an Acer Gsync 1080P monitor and buy a Rog Swift to stick with the 970 for a while?

Not sure of my best option?

Well the RRP of the 980 Ti seems reasonable, if we see that price in the UK at launch - Circa £550. I would go with the 980 Ti.

If it's overpriced stick with your 970 a lil longer until AMD have their new cards as well and see what pricing VS performance is like then.

No im allowing £650 for either the card or going 1440. I can pick up a monitor down the road

Thanks for the replys guys... yeah im thinking the 980TI but a few friends say get the monitor. The GPU seems the better idea as i`ll sell the 970 quick

It would also make sense, in general, to wait for AMD to launch their stuff this month, in the hope it'll cause some price wars.

Personally I would get the Swift and then get a second 970, but the answers will vary from person to person, so just do what you want! :p

If £550-600 then the 980Ti.

I'm in the same boat as you OP. Sold my GTX690, replacing with 980Ti and another later with a bigger monitor :)

980Ti all day. Mates will probably be more jelly of the beastly GPU which could actually run the ROG Swift much better than the 970 lol.

Cheers guys... i just sold my 970 and my Acer Gsync and ordered a Rog... bad timing as the IPS panels will be out soon but i shot myself in the foot and sold it before i knew about the incoming ASUS Rog IPS. Im just waiting for the MSI 980Ti dates before i cash in.. also like the look of the ASUS STRIX 980Ti.. hope to hear about either or this week??

I think it would if been a good idea to wait and see what AMD brings as it can only be good based on Nvidia move to release 980 Ti so quickly. They know something we dont obviously and wants to temp gamers early

Not really a fan of AMD TBH im happy with Nvidia and Gsync... they could pull something good at of the bag but i think there driver support is poor and i have central heating so i dont want the extra heat.

Your right about Nvidia tempting us (look at Titan X owners now) but my own preference is Nvidia so id be happy with my choice.

ROG first - I'm running one with a 780 (clocked to stock 980 performance which should also be possible on the 970) and everything runs great. The swift is by far the best gaming upgrade I've done in awhile.
