What would you add to this? Full pc build

Hey guys.

I ended up going with everything stulid suggested and im now well on my way to getting everything built. I decided to go with the Radeon HD 6950 and the be quiet 900w. Went from a 1k build to £1400 :)

I have a few questions if you lot don't mind helping me out, looking to get this completely finished tonight.

I have everything in the Haf X case connected bar a few spare cables. There are two blue USB cables, where are these supposed to go?

I also have a cable with 2 ports on it, HD Audio and AC'97, I take it these are for the sound inputs on the case panel but im not sure where they are meant to go on the board?

I will probably have a few more questions as we go so bear with me :)

everything in post # 15?

the blue usb cables will be from the cases usb3 ports, stick them in a header.

only plug the HD audio into the motherboards audio connector, just leave the AC97 dangling.

all the connections are along the bottom of the board.

This was the order m8.

Sorry for the stupid question but what do you mean by a header? The usb leads have the male port on them.

Another thing I wanted to ask is when I connect up the front sound inputs to the motherboard does the rear inputs still work? Im probably going to connect up my stereo to the MB sound jacks for offline games and plug in my headphones + Mic when playing online.

the headers are those three blue things along the bottom.

if you wire the HD audio connector into the header, the speaker outputs on the rear still work, until a headphone is detected if you stick one into the 3.5mm front jack.

the connections are all in the motherboard manual, i think the audio header is a black one?

But the leads that are coming from the case are actual USB leads that you would plug into a device, not the ports on the MB.

ah, those, are they long enough to go through the case, out the back, and into the rear of the motherboard.

Ahhhh. Thank you m8.

One other thing that is puzzling me is that when I go into system information it is only showing a processor speed of 3.30 GHz. this is supposed to be clocked to 4.40, its the same in bios.

there will be a OCUK profile in the bios, a bit like a saved game.

busman, have a read of the haf x book,, if you want the to blue front usb's to be usb 3 then u have to feed the cables through the case and out of one of the watercooling holes and plug in to the usb ports on the back of you motherboard. if you dont want them to be usb 3 there is another cable in the haf x box to swap them, then it will be a usb 'header' to connect to the motherboard inside the case usually at the bottom of the motherboard

No sign of an OCUk profile in the bios although if im honest I dont know where to look.

I downloaded the manual, and had a look.

in the Bios.

Select TOOLS MENU along the top

Then ASUS O.C PROFILE

And hopefully you will see a saved profile with a obvious name, click on Load from Profile and choose the right one.

Save and exit.

Got it m8. Actually phoned OCUK today and they told me they have been having a lot of query's about it. Apparently the chip is so new it is not recognised properly. I had to run CPUz to get the correct speed.

With this rig now what would you think my setting could be on crysis? I'm going to set everything to max and run fraps to see how it goes.
