This thread is sort of a "go wild" thread but also a build recommendation thread at the same time
Looking at getting a build at around this cost in the summer, and have it mainly planned out, but i was wondering what you guys would build with the money. It's for gaming at high resolutions (2560x1600/3240x1920) but also any other random stuff i find myself doing, which can come toe high res photo editing, video rendering, 3d rendering, you name it
.
this is my personal choice of components: Try to stick around it, but you can always change something.
The case i have chosen is the Silverstone FT02 as it faces the right direction for where it is being placed, it is unique as well as looking nice at the same time.
i7 4770k. Yeah it's not out yet, but soon will be
32GB RAM. the more the merrier.
not sure which GPU's to get at the moment. Can go either way, but 7970GHz crossfire seems the most price/performance, but it may be easier fitting 680's in the FT02 with a radiator and fans.
Everything fully watercooled.
Revodrive 3 x2 960GB... no need for hard drives as getting a NAS for data. SSD is the way to go, and 960 is enough for programs, games and local files for me. No wires is a very big plus, and it's set up off the bat with RAID and has awesome theoretical speeds. £200~ more than RAID 0 480GB's but with the pro's above it looks quite promising :S
lets go!
