What Would You Change?

This is my current spec:

AMD 64 4000
MSI K8N Diamond
1 gig corsair xms
7800gtx
2 x 120gb hd's
antec truepower 550 psu

only built in 3 months ago but im wanting to upgrade it a bit, mainly because it can be sluggish at times, what would you reccomend? (budget is about £250)

another gig of ram, and an x2? to be honest, it shouldn't be sluggish at all I wouldnt have thought? Maybe its windows?

another vote for the 2 gigs, especially if gaming. Shouldnt be sluggish at all though...

2gb ram is probs what you require. could you tell us your page file size and usage statistics maybe? it can be a nice indicator, also the amount of processes that run on startup when u log in to windows can slow everything down. try and aim for as little as possible. my pc normally has 24 processes running, thats including msn, a hotkey plugin and my AV.

That rig should be fine, what hard drives are they? ATA or SATA?

the main one with xp on it is sata, the 2nd one (used for backup) is ata

usually have around 47-57 processes running at any one time
