So here's the scenario, you have a pc in a pretty hot room and it can't leave that room, it's in a Zalman z9+ case with stock fans, the CPU is cooled with an antec kuhler 920 with stock fans, your wife's moaning cos it's loud and as summer approaches it starts to run hotter.

You need to upgrade, you already plan on a new case and 2 new fans for the kuhler 920, you need a case with really good cooling but also fairly quiet....

Which case? Budget around £150 max

I'm thinking possibly Haf-X, Cm Storm Trooper, Switch 810, Raven03, Antec 1200.. am I missing anything?, I'm leaning towards Haf-x, but want some input if possible

I just picked a random review but bit-tech do a pretty table of case stock cooling results. Might be worth a look but if you're not trying to cram a load of rads in the case you don't necessarily need one of the super large sized cases (tj11, elysium etc)

Think im going to try the CM Stormtrooper, i like the look of it, it has inbuilt fan control with an annoying beep which i can live with. And the reviews are fairly positive all round i think?

outa the ones to listed either Switch 810 or Raven03.
i got the 600T white with the antec 920 with Scythe Gentle Typhoons. can idle cpu sicks around 27 degrees :)

I've seen mixed reviews on the switch 810 also, the Haf-x has good reviews so does the storm trooper, also the corsair cases are highly regarded.

I'm going with the storm trooper for my current build I think, I'm building a rig for a family member also with an Intel 3570k and an alpenfohn k2 cooler and will put it in the corsair 500r for them as I like the look of that case also. I'm running a 6950 toxic unlocked to 6970 in my rig and the other rig will have a 7850 MSI frozr in its apart from that most if the stuffs identical, will be interesting to see the deferences between them in the same room. I'm guessing the newer kit should run cooler tho

Oh incidentally I have some be quiet silentwing2 120mm fans inc to swap for the stock antec ones on the 920, will post some comparisons when all done between cases, noise levels and temps etc

Heard a few negative reviews on the Shinobi XL, seems it wasn't as good as people hoped it would've been?

Theres a lack of airflow entering the front of the case so its temps aren't as good as cases with very open (and dust prone) front fascias, but its not like its awful.

But its build quality, the soft touch feel, the silence and cable routing are excellent.
