Hi just a general question I want to see what people would choose and why.

I know there is a bit of a price different but would you choose two 980ti's in SLI or a Titan X?

Well the Ti is usually seen as the better single card choice whereas the Titan X is the better multi-gpu option...

980Ti in SLI every time. The only time the Titan X will really pull away from a 980Ti is if you're using more than two Titan X cards to push Ultra HD with 8xMSAA+Ultra in games like GTAV and Watch dogs. Otherwise the extra 6GB will show no real world advantage on a factory OC 980Ti, especially one Titan X vs two 980Tis..

A single 980Ti will keep up with a Titan X and a factory OC will surpass it, so for gaming purposes, it makes a TX look a little pointless unless you are running a crazy high resolution.

Good point, a card like the MSI 980Ti Lightning is faster than a Titan X anyway, so the op probably won't need two 980Tis depending on the resolution/settings desired.

I am curious to what people thought. So apart from the Vram what is the point in the Titan X? Also going off what has been said two TX's or three 980ti's? As that would be similar priced.

When the Titan X launched, there was nothing even close to its power, so the early adopters bought it. Next came the 980Ti, which has a few less cores but still manages to keep up pretty much and costs much less.

If you was running 4xTitan Xs with 3x4K monitors, there is a plus to owning the TXs but other than what I have said, no point buying now.
