I hate being put in "difficultly easy" situations.
Basically, my mates and I were going to watch the England game down the pub tonight. Found out this morning that one of my mates has Pneumonia, now he wants us all to go round his house for the game instead with promises of free food and drink.
I know Pneumonia isn't contagious, but if hes coughing every few seconds i'm going to be paranoid the whole time im there. To be honest i'd rather go to the pub and get some nice pub food anyway, i dunno what hes got his house, but his mum is apparently making food (probably good but still).
Another reason to not go is that he lives quite a long walk away, and getting a lift back from his place might be difficult (not sure hes actually insured on a car atm, he passed his driving test today). The pub on the other hand, is IN my street.
Hes been calling me and sounds desparate, keeps trying to get us to go round his house. You see, usually he comes round one of our houses, simply cause nobody wants to go miles away... its always a hassle for him to get home too (since if its dark, you really need to get driven home, no street lights or paths to walk on really).
I need to some how not go, without making him feel bad, or his mum who probably assumes will definatly go round.
