A company calling themselves something like Expert Alliance rang me yesterday.
Some scouse oik was telling me i could claim injury compensation from the motor accident i had back in October 2007. It was the other drivers fault and his insurance paid out for the damage to my car.
This scallywag was doing his best to get me to push for compensation, over 2 years after the accident. He asked if i suffered any injury. I said only for a few days with slight neck ache which i took ibuprofen for. After that there were no side effects.
He told me that was classed as "self-medication" at home instead of going to the docs and that that was ok i could still claim. He also said that i didn't have to prove anything and that there was already up to £1600 set aside for my injury claim and the other driver would never know about it.
He asked if i want to be sent a claim pack in the post to which i said "ok then". He then put me on hold and after a few mins a lady solicitor came to the phone wanting some details of the accident. She wanted to confirm i was injured for 2 weeks and i said NO, only one week at the most. She said "oh, it has to be 2 weeks for you to claim". I'd already told the scally that it was only a few days and that i wasn't going to claim for something i wasn't entitled to.
She thanked me for my honesty and that was case closed.
Anyone else had this happen? The scally did have my policy number from directline, but it seemed a little fishy. He was trying to convince me that i was injured and needed to claim!!!
Question: what would you have done?
