I don't think i would spend it on an expensive car, would be a waste. Seems doing some travelling and then picking a sensible training/education path seems to be the way forward.

If I were you, I'd definitely go traveling for 6-12 months and try and keep it relatively cheap but not so much that you won't have a good time. Perhaps do some charity based work which is always good on the C.V and a good excuse for a year out from work.
Treat myself to a few techie items, like a new PC and whatever else floated my boat and put the rest into something investment orientated like a deposit on a house.
