At the moment my system is as follows:

Phenom II X4 955/Gigabyte UD3H/4GB Patriot Sector 5 PC3-12800 /Sapphire HD 5850/Asus Xonar DX/Intel 80GB M SSD/Seagate Barracuda 1TB /LG 8x Blu-Ray Reader/Antec P183/Corsair 650W ATX/Samsung T240 24" LCD

Recently, my psu failed and I have to send it back to corsair. However, its going to cost me £30 and in the meantime I'm without a PSU. Whilst the PSU is out I'm wondering about the need to upgrade any of my system. I use mainly for office apps, video editing and voice recognition useage which needs a large amount of cache. Is there anything obvious that comes to mind without breaking the bank?

As a replacementy psu I'm looking at a modular 650watt Corsair, unless anyone can suggest any other alternatives.

So, do I need to upgrade any of my system and what power supply should I get?

Cheers

The antec high current gamer 620w is currently on a deal for £49.99 which is very good value for a seasonic designed unit and has received some great reviews.

As for the rest of your system...it looks very good. There's not much to upgrade yet really. The only thing I could think of was to upgrade the CPU to a Hex Core like to 1090T or something but I'm not sure how much you would benefit, and with Bull Dozer round the corner, it hardly seems worth the effort right now.

You could get some more RAM perhaps, but if your system is not struggling at the moment then is there really much need?

New mouse? Keyboard?

adding another 4 or even 8 gig of RAM would be only suggestion for the rest of the system, this would help with editing larger files
Another Corsair prob would be best as itd be easier to sell on without too much of a loss once you get your original back/replaced, assuming you dont want to have another PSU lying around

thanks everyone for the replies, this is definitely the most helpful and friendly of all the forums im a member of. The 620 watt corsair at that price is very tempting, although I swore I would go modular next time. As for mouse and keyboard, Ive got a logitech performance mx which is superb and probably my favourite item out of all my components, a filco majestouch keyboard with cherry blue switches - amazing!
