Hi All,
I have a question...do I get my car repaired or do I try and trade it in and get a replacement?
My current car is an 05 plate BMW 320d SE with 101K on the clock. The Clutch and Fly Wheel need replacing, which with VAT and labor is looking at around £920.
Now apart from the above fault the car is good condition apart from a few minor scratches on the back bumper. Now I'm presuming that if I was looking at Part Ex against another car I would hopefully get around £3500.
I've been looking at other cars at around the £7k mark, however I can't really find much which ticks all the same boxes as my BM, or find something that really takes my fancy. I'm still looking at a diesel as I'm traveling about 450 miles per week and would like to keep my home comforts such as Nav, cruise control and climate control.
My question is, would you go for the repair (near enough a third of what it's worth) or take the plunge and look into another car which could potentially have a set of problems (I'm know this is a risk with any car)?
Cheers
