I've just gone outside to my car to grab the service book from the glovebox to find a neighbour spraying a childs toy behind my boot with gold paint.

Now perhaps I'm getting too old or cranky but I am genuinely pee'd off that someone thinks its ok to spray gold paint at the rear of my car to cover a toy. There's ample space outside to do it elsewhere but no, my car seems the perfect place.

I haven't looked to see if any is on the car yet because

A) I wondered if I'm overreacting
B) I can't get down to the bumper to look at it as my stomach's still sore post op.

What says you ocuk?

Have a look, do you get on with your neighbour well?

Don't really speak to them other than to say hello or the odd wave!

I'd be telling the child to go and spray the toy behind the back of their parents car, unless they don't have one.

It wasn't the child spraying the toy.... it was the parent

I think you are underreacting if anything, that is just a dumb, inconsiderate thing to do. I would try and check before it gets to dark.

I wouldn't dream of spraying spray paint around anything that someone else owned for fear of damaging it. That's just me perhaps. Believe me I am royally ##### off about it. I'll go look now.

Do you have anyone to take a look for you?

Her indoors is at a wedding still so unfortunately not!

I have my fingers crossed for you mate that your car is OK!

I've been out with a cheapy cree torch and shone it at the paint from as close as I can get down and back up from. I can't see anything that looks out of place but its getting washed for me tomorrow! I figure that gold would show up pretty well on pearlescent anyway? Hopefully if any did get on it, its sat on top of a decent layer of FK1000p.

I haven't driven the car in three weeks (as of wed coming) so hopefully it doesn't get more damaged parked at home than it does when I'm actually using it.

Thanks all.

That's good news, hopefully no paint got on your car but if it has a bit of car clay should do the trick as the car has a decent layer of protection. :)

It would come off easily enough with a clay bar, t cut or worst case some thinners - regardless it's not exactly a good position to be in!

Think I would have checked the bumper for overspray before creating this thread personally, but yes, I would be annoyed.

I think even in the worst case scenario, though; overspray could be polished off?

edit: beaten

I've recently had keyhole surgery which was a lot more complicated and went on for a lot longer than it should have.

Currently getting up let alone getting down to bumper level is a painful experience so hence my posting then attempting to look after. I thought maybe due to being doped up on pain killers I may have been overreacting!

At least my thread isn't

"Hey ocuk what do you think of X car from supercarfinance4u..., it's a red corsa which was previously Cat D".

Ocuk : It sux don't buy

"Thanks for all your advice chaps but I've purchased it anyway, 49.9% apr and couldn't be happier"

:D
