Hey guys,

Currently at my job (Goods inwards/Unloading trucks) im contracted 24 hours (but its usually 30-35) hours a week i do (but not guaranteed, sometimes it will dip to 24) and im on £9.10 an hour.

Spotted a new job going today on a job site,Its 39 hours contract,And in Electrical engineering (making PCBs,Populating them with components and testing etc,Which as ive always been interested in electronics this got my attention..but the major downfall,Its National minimum wage!

What would you do.

Stick with my current job @£9.10 an hour and hope i can eventually get more contracted hours to get 35+ (doubt it though)

Or

Go for this other job at national minimum wage but guaranteed 39 hours a week?

Well ive been at my current job for over 8 years,To be honest i dont see any sort of progression,I could go for relief Supervisor training but they are only on 70p an hour more..not even worth all the extra work/responsibility you have to do imo.

As for the new job,Well it doesn't say anything about future progression,i guess this is something that would arise after some time working there.

Given how close the the pay is I'd rather have the extra time and maybe do some electronics stuff on the side or something.

EDIT: Though with future minimum wage rises that might change unless your current wage gets some increases.

Well this is what i was thinking,But to be honest there really isnt anything i could do on the side electronics wise,That new job would literally be on the job training for me..
i do have brief experience with electronics but its only replacing capacitors etc..nothing more in depth.

Choices choices. :p
