got about £120-£150 max to possibly upgrade my graphics. was thinking get an ATI card and use my 9800GTX+ as a physx card. which card would you recommend, would you use the physx setup, or am i better waiting a few months and seeing if prices tumble?

I asked similar and the general consensus is a 5770. If you're not too bothered about DX11 support then a 4890 is around the same price but slighty faster (5770 has a 128bit memory controller to the 4890 which has 256bit).

would rather go with dx11 for that sort of money just incase there is an influx of good dx11 games in 2010. but are the prices of the better cards looking like dropping drastically anytime soon.

Well, the ati 5850 are "ment" to drop to around £180 when fermi is released. Thats the rrp price when they first came out. You go stretch to one of them. Cracking cards. Oc to 5870 performance.

If you can't, like other people said, the 5770 is the best in your range and then down in the line, gives you chance to crossfire which is better than a single 5870 gpu.

ok kool. how many pci-e power connectors does the 5770 have, is it 6 or 8pin and do they normally come with the molex-pci-e convertors?

by this theory could i get the 5750 for £88 and OC that to 5770 speed?

I don't know becasuse I ain't looked at the 5750. I wouldn't even chance ocing it tbh. The 5770 is a really ocable card with great protensional. Stick with the 5770.

All the 5770s are the same, barring the Sapphire Vapor-X and PowerColor PCS models. Those have better cooling/overclocks.

Yeah the 5770's are pretty much the same at the moment. The only thing that differs is the warranty with most of them.
There may be more custom version coming out soon(With there own coolers etc)

can get this PowerColor HD5770 1GB GDDR5 (V2) for £115 at work, is that a good price and a good card?
sorry for linking to another site but its not a store so think its ok, if not remove the link please.

is this card ok, or would there be one around the same sort of price that would be better? either as an oc card or power/temp.

A six pin connector. Mine from Asus cam with the molex adaptor and cross fire bridge

xfire bridge? do the 2 cards get connected? i thought it was all done by software. bonus you get the power lead though, if the card i linked to is ok can get it ordered tomorrow and weather permitting fitted on tues :)

well thinking i might just bite the bullet and order one of these tomorrow.
final thing is, if i use it with the 9800GTX+ for physx, is there any issues with games thatdont support it, ie am i better off not using is as im sure 99% of my games wont use it and it will slow it down, or am i ok keeping incase new games come out for it as it wont do any harm?
