What will you be running on the system and what monitor will you be going for? If you have a decent clocking motherboard and a high resolution monitor I'd probably go with the X2 3800, if you are going to be doing more applications based work at slightly lower resolutions then the X2 4400 and I'd probably still clock it.
I won't be running high res at the moment due to the fact I cannot afford a new monitor and will be stuck with this 17" CRT at 1024 - 768 and it will be for online gaming mainly.
Other upgrades will come later on, and it will be in an Asus A8N-SLi Premium nForce4 SLi.
But I don't want bottleneck on anything I do later on, so thats why I looked at the 4400.
definately te second one, you can use the 3800 with the x1800 and save yourself some money towards a better monitor, useless you planning a 20"+ monitor the x1800 should give a enough kick
