I work in supermarket checkout and I got this pakistani customer.
He only had two items, 2 x 500ml water (50p each but 3 for 90p) - I told him this but he wasn't interested -.

When it came to paying, he took out an AMEX and told me he only received the card today and the chip n pin may not be working yet so he asked if he could sign for it. He also asked for £50 cashback.

While waiting for the receipt to print, i looked at the front of the card and saw the issue date to be 03/09 and the name on it had the surname McArthur. Strange surname for an asian fellow eh...?

I forgot to tell him no cashback is given on credit cards so when I told him this after he signed for it, he said it was ok and then he couldn't get out the store quicker.

Now I'm 99% positive this guy has a stolen credit card and was trying to use it to withdraw money.

As it is an AMEX, I imagine it will have quite a high credit limit on it...

If you were in my situation what would you have done?

i didn't think you could get cashback on an amex card at a till, thought it was debit cards only.

You can't get cashback on any credit card afaik.

I thought this as well actually. Given who the OP is and the convenient story about a brown person I'm calling bs.

You can't get cashback on an AMEX. When did I say you could?

Hmmm a poster who is known for 'not liking foreigners' and this happens to him.

OK.

You got something stuck up your rear end Wicksta or you just trying to take a cheap dig?
Have you actually read the thread or is all you seeing is, I hate foreigners - get out my white country!
And yes, I do support BAE Systems. When I graduate, I want to be recruited by them!!

If it was a white male with an asian surname I would've still made this thread. Stop trying to make this thread about your kind of people. If you think I'm talking BS, kindly leave the thread. You're not wanted here.

How can you be sure he was Pakistani?

Couldn't he be Bangladeshi, or just a REALLY tanned white guy? Or was he definitely asian because of his accent?

Supermarket is in a half predominantly pakistani area, who cares if he wasn't pakistani, that's not the point. Take this PC BS elsewhere.
