What would you as a gamer like from a Next Gen MMO.

Don't just reply with a game name + updated. Write down what you want.

I want to get rid of the XP system and level up via using weapons and gaining skill in using them. I want to be doing dungeons that look like dungeons. I want to have a active physics system that players can use to there advantage. I want 2 factions with open pvp everywhere, No instanced pvp, free world pvp anything goes. I want to be able to loot the items off another players body.

Just a few of my thoughts

A foolproof way of keeping kids out. Farm the verification out to a specialist company if necessary, but give me a way of not having to play with the pre-teens.

The ability to actually climb over a small rock or fence. I mean, how ridiculous is it that once your uber-warrior has slain a God (just for sod's sake) that he can't even enter an area because of a small rock blocking the path or there's a fenced off area with a 2' wooden fence that for some reason is impossible to jump!

The same goes for FPS games too, hell I have a rocket launcher so really shouldn't I be able to blow that wooden door out of the way?

Leveling similar to that of SWG/UO where each character can/will be different. Player actions actualy change the world such as building player cities etc. Terrain/environment that can or cannot be beneficial in PvP

I'd like to see an online version of something like Morrowind/Oblivion, a true first-person MMO with great-looking dungeons.

Would also like to see:

- The ability to create your own armor and weapons (after training in it) to make yourself look truly unique, and give you unique stats

- A changing world in which players can build their own houses/shops, and create huge settlements with other players

- Raiding on an epic scale (at least 40-man)

- A game that won't be dumbed-down as soon as casual players stick their heads-in, ending up in the removal of all decent challenge the game had to offer

- For people aged 18+ only (enforced through credit card verification, player has to be the owner of the card), this would allow for much more blood/violence/mature content

Theres far far too much that I want in an MMO, it would just be depressing to list it.

Its 11 years since UO burst onto the scene as the first major MMO, over a decade later and really MMOs seem to have gone backwards rather than forwards (apart from graphically)

Come on Tombstone, i was expecting a epic post from you! :D

UO2 , thats what I want in an online RPG. End of story.

Its time we had a sequel to the greatest MMO of them all. UO did things that the so-called "modern" MMOs can still only dream about doing. SWG came close by copying large amounts of UO, but I generally prefer the fantasy genre over the sci-fi. So I am going to go with UO2.

Come on EA...you know that you have been begging for a knockout MMO. You have had the licence all these years (unless there is some clause pertaining to Ultima and Richard Garriott that hasnt been made public), pull your fingers out and get UO2 made !

Show the MMO gaming population that its not fancy bump mapped graphics and purple loot which makes a good MMO again !

:)

Hehe, thanks Hedge, I know that post basically amounts to game name +update, but I just dont have the heart to go into all the detail of what I want, it wont get made anyway and will just make me yearn for 1997 again :)

1. Emphasis on co-operation, not conflict i.e. challenging PvE content rather than the current paradigm of PvP=end game.
2. High Frame rates on a rig that meets recommended specification - even in big city hubs. Art over Realism.
3. Ability to interact with game on a basic level through a web interface. I loved EveMon in EVE for example, but think it could be extended e.g. using auction house over the web, or even chatting with your mates.

Firefly would make an awesome MMO i just wish they would continue developing it instead of starting on some crap Buffy MMO which will fail on a massive scale imo.

I can always see some type of Harry Potter MMO coming out, doubt i'd buy it unlessit looked amazingly good.

I'd like a special icon on my hotbar, and whenever i meet a tard, or someone who expects me to jump through burning hoops in order to be allowed to be ordered around by them in their leet guild, i can press this button and their pc bursts into flames.
